Blue is the color of three little boys,
living three lives full of everyday joys.
Once orphaned and abused, they now find rescue,
peacefully asleep in three rooms painted blue.
Blue is the cozy comfort of a snuggle and a cuddle
after running and jumping in the front yard puddle.
Serenity, tranquility, a steady drip-drop:
the sound of a rainy day upon my housetop.
Blue is the welcoming, friendly "hello"
of many places where I often go:
Chattanooga, and Kentucky - and even Wal-Mart,
blue mountains, valleys, and a food-filled cart.
Blue are the tear-filled eyes of the mother
of six blue-eyed children - three sisters, three brothers.
Seven lives full of pain, heartbreak, and sorrow -
sometimes blue is the lack of hope for tomorrow.
Blue is the color of this March-born baby,
living my life for the One who made me.
With blue eyes opened to many hurting and lost,
my mission remains: share hope, love, joy at all costs.
Now, you see, blue can have many meanings, many shades.
Dark shades of depression, brightening to joy as love pervades.
Blue can be tears of hopelessness.
Blue can be laughs of happiness.
Blue can be my favorite hello.
Blue can be my feeling when I let someone go.
A shade of comfort, a shade of rest,
A shade of worst, or a shade of best.
Blue is a color every person, every life sees.
Choose to see blue any shade that you please.
